The MRS. Degree by Sara Ney

Release Date: May 3, 2022

SYNOPSIS: I never thought I would get pregnant in college. When I did, I thought leaving Jack Jennings was doing him a giant favor—he had a bright future ahead of him as a football star—the last thing he needed was me and a baby standing in his way of his dreams. Honestly? I figured he would eventually forget about me.
I would raise our child in secret and watch Jack on television, and the pain of what I’d done to him would heal.
The last person I expected to see on my brothers doorstep seven years later was Jack; obviously, or I wouldn’t have answered it. A superstitious athlete, dreams were keeping him awake at night that were preventing him from excelling on the field—dreams he was hoping I could make…disappear. He looked so good. So much older.
Kind. Handsome. Turns out, he hadn’t forgotten about me either, and he hadn’t put our past behind him.

The MRS. Degree is Book 2 in the new Accidentally in Love Series!

REVIEW: Let’s start with Jack. He is totally book boyfriend material! I think the way he really loved Penelope, and the way he handles everything was pretty mature. I also just love Sara Ney’s humor, and some of her sports romances are my absolute favorites! We see Davis and Juliet from The Player Hater right in the beginning of this one. Davis is Penelope’s brother and bought her a house right next to his. They’re super close, and he is an awesome uncle to Skipper! While I agree with the sentiment of Davis’ feelings about everything Penelope kept secret, I didn’t love the way he went about telling her that. Secret baby is always a hard trope, and I think Sara Ney did well with this one in general. For me personally, the reasons for the secret have to be very specific things, or I just have trouble with it. This one did not have one of those reasons, so it was just hard for me to get past that (which is totally a personal problem). If you like the secret baby trope, I think you’re going to like this one!

Release Date: April 30, 2022

SYNOPSIS: If there’s one thing I know to be certain in life, it’s to expect the unexpected. I never expected to become a teen mom or have to flee a toxic relationship years later. And I certainly never expected to go head-to-head with Jacob Harris, doctor of veterinary medicine, to prove I’m worthy of running the struggling rescue full of misfit animals I suddenly inherited. Jacob is as smug as he is good looking, and I refuse to let that cocky grin or sharp jawline distract me. I won’t go down without a fight, and this time, it’ll be easy to stand my ground when my opponent is someone I can’t stand–even though my body reacts whenever he’s around. This time I’m not backing down no matter how much he gets under my skin. But the more I push, the more he pulls…until I don’t know what I’m more at a risk of losing: the rescue or my heart.

REVIEW: I have been waiting for another Emily Goodwin contemporary! I absolutely loved her Dawson Family Series, and I’ve been looking forward to more in the Silver Ridge Series. This one was more of a slow burn and a real enemies-to-lovers. Josie and Jacob did not get along for a while, and it was not exactly what I was expecting. If you like these elements, I think you’re going to like this one! It also had a more “women’s fiction” genre vibe, because a lot of the focus is on Josie, her journey as a single mom, and how awesome she is. While this is not the contemporary romance I was expecting, there are some really wonderful things about this story for certain readers!

The Spring We Ignited is a small-town, fake marriage, friends-to-lovers romance. No cheating and HEA guaranteed.

REVIEW: This book was so much better than I thought it be and I thought it was gonna be great! This series has been so emotional so far, and I definitely like the previous books, but this one is by far my favorite!! You see some of the set up in the previous books, which definitely adds to this story. I was really anticipating this one, because I just didn’t know what to expect when it came to how it would play out between Nova and Finn. These two were just meant to be together! They were also just such a likable characters–even when they were going to their struggles and dealing with everything else. I felt like the things that were difficult for them were often outside of their control rather than things that they were doing themselves or each other. I also appreciate the different backgrounds of these two, and how they address that they see things from different perspectives. They also listened and educated each other about their own experiences. Nova is just so strong, caring, and loving. She was a wonderful female character. I’ve been really curious about Declan as well from previous books and I was wondering how he was gonna play into this story. I felt like there were some good Easter eggs about his story in this one, and I am really, really hoping that Victoria Denault is going to take it where I think she’s taking it, because sign me the fuck up. Honestly, I just was so emotionally satisfied by this book. And not only do I love this story immensely, I love this freakin’ cover!! It is too cute and I can’t wait to get my physical copy!

Between 2015 and 2019 she has had 10 novels published with Forever (Hachette) in two standalone series – The Hometown Players and The San Francisco Thunder. Victoria’s love of books began at 12 when she picked up her first Sweet Valley High and grew from there. Her favorite childhood gift remains the 1930s typewriter her parents found at a garage sale which actually wasn’t a gift for her. It was meant to be a display piece in their front hall but Victoria snuck it into her bedroom and it was on that typewriter she first began pounding out her own stories. Reason to Believe by Rebecca Yarros

Release Date: April 26, 2022

SYNOPSIS: “I’ll take them!” That’s what I tell the social worker when my pre-k student and his baby brother need an emergency foster placement. I’ll do anything to keep the brothers from being split up. But my apartment’s flooded and there’s only one house I can take them to on such short notice…his. Knox Daniels, my older brother’s best friend, offers his new place without hesitation. He’s not moving back to our tiny town until next month—that’s when all our hotshot firefighters are returning for their one and only chance to rebuild our fathers’ fallen, iconic crew. It doesn’t matter that I’ve been silently in love with Knox since we were kids. It can’t matter that we pretend that reckless prom night kiss never happened. It won’t matter that my feelings for him could destroy his lifelong friendship with my brother and threaten the certification of their hotshot crew. Because I’ll be out of his house long before he gets back. Except Knox just walked in…a month early. And the icing on this awkward cake? He’s gorgeous as always and I’m covered in baby puke. He takes one look at the boys and tells me we can make this work— We can temporarily fake a relationship to keep them from being separated by the system. Suddenly, everything matters.

REVIEW: This story made me feel all of the freaking emotions! As soon as I read the blurb for this book, I knew I needed to read it. It did not disappoint in any way. Rebecca Yarros is so good at giving the reader an emotional ride between characters. Even when they go through really difficult situations, and don’t handle things well, I’m completely invested in the situation and what’s gonna happen to the characters in this book! I also love a good brother’s best friend romance, and this one definitely was a great example of the trope. Oh, Harper stole my heart. The chemistry between her and Knox from the very first scene we get of them is just so good. Then seeing her care for Liam and Jamie, I just fell absolutely head over heels for her as a main character. Between her taking care of kids, the way the forced proximity happens, and the heart ache they go through, I was 100% in love with the story. I loved all the side characters as well and so I’m really excited to see where the story series goes!!
