5 STARS!
Release Date: September 1, 2020
SYNOPSIS: If your ex arrives in your hometown eighteen months after you walked out on him while you were eight months pregnant, follow this short list of rules before you give him a second chance.
Rule #1 – Don’t stand in the way of your brothers who want to rough him up.
Rule #2 – Don’t meet him for coffee and agree to allow him to meet your daughter.
Rule #3 – Don’t drool when your daughter falls asleep on his chest for the first time. It’s just your ovaries talking.
Rule #4 – Don’t let him hold your hand. While we’re at it, no hugs, no kisses on the cheek… just no physical contact in general. That only leads to remembering better times.
The last one is the most important…
Rule #5 – When you find yourself needing someone’s help and you’re tired of always asking your family, don’t let him be the one who’s there for you.
Because all those good qualities of his will suck you right back in and you’ll have no chance of fighting your feelings, especially now that he’s ready to be a father to your daughter.
Review: I cannot believe this is the last Bailey’s book. It makes me so happy and so sad at the same time. Haha. First, let’s talk about how amazing Lake Starlight and all the Bailey’s are. they may just be my most favorite fictional family. The loss and connections they share are so endearing. It’s also wonderful to see each Bailey come into their own. And let’s not forget the star of the show, Grandma Dori. She is the matchmaking queen behind the scenes and such a little spitfire. I love how meddlesome she is, seriously always adding a good laugh or a put-them-in-their-place talk. She is an element throughout these books that makes them that much better.
Okay, let’s get to Sedona. Something I sincerely appreciated about Sedona is how on the DL she is. She’s dealt with some drama and hurt, yet she’s not there stealing the show of her other siblings. We barely know about her, or her situation, until we get to the end of book 8. And even when we finally see all that she’s been through, she quietly perseveres. At the same time, she isn’t a pushover and seems to know herself really well. I just appreciated how she stayed true to herself throughout this book.
Oh Jamie and his naiveté. He has so much potential, and I loved finally getting to know him after the tiny glimpses we’ve gotten throughout the books. Seeing him interact with his daughter is the sweetest too. I thought Piper Rayne did a good job of portraying his alcoholism and how it continues to impact him. I feel like he had a lot of growth while him and Sedona were apart, but he also does a lot during this story. One thing about Jamie and Sedona as a couple that I absolutely love is their trust in each other, even after everything. This is a couple that is really just meant to be.
Rules for Dating Your Ex was the perfect ending to The Bailey’s Series. I am so thankful to have been able to read and review these books for Piper Rayne through Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is one of my top romance series of all time and I would definitely recommend it!

Piper Rayne, or Piper and Rayne, whichever you prefer because we’re not one author, we’re two. Yep, you get two USA Today Bestselling authors for the price of one. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have “Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle” (okay…you caught us, that’s our tagline). A little about us… We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We’re both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We’re both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
