REVIEW: The thing about anthologies like this is that when they’re all the same trope, and you love the trope, you know you’re going to enjoy all of the stories! On top of that, you get to discover new authors who write that trope, or revisit the worlds of your favorite authors. I had so much fun reading this book! When I first read Rebecca Jenshak’s story, it just made me so happy to be back in her Smart Jock’s world. Seeing the characters that I loved from that series as side characters, had me completely invested. All of these authors brought their own style to this trope and I really enjoyed seeing how they would write it. I definitely recommend this one to my fellow romance readers.

SYNOPSIS: Beckett Samuelson has had enough stepmothers to spot a gold digger when he sees one. So when his ailing father announces his engagement to the private nurse he’s only known for two months—who’s also forty years his junior—Beckett has to step in. But as he gets to know the woman, he realizes she’s the perfect next Mrs. Samuelson. If only he was the intended groom. Corazon Dela Cruz sends every spare penny she earns to her family in the Philippines. Then her latest nursing client offers her $25,000 to fake an engagement to convince his overprotective son to return to work abroad—he doesn’t need Beckett’s help. But as Corazon and Beckett spend more time together—from picnics on the beach to galas in fancy dresses—she starts to develop very real feelings. Too bad she’s engaged to the wrong Samuelson.
REVIEW: This one was super cute! First of all, Cora and Chester’s relationship was adorable. The Star Wars scene!? Perfection. Cora is such a likable character. She’s so caring and the type of friend anyone would be lucky to have. Beckett is quite the damaged, broody male lead. His relationship with his father is messy and is in such contrast to Cora’s relationship with Chester. I enjoyed watching Cora and Beckett really get to know each other. And Chester’s scheming was a great addition to the story. Thank you to Indie Sage PR and Entangled Publishing for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
