Give My Everything by Jillian Liota

Release Date: April 6, 2020

SYNOPSIS: Ben Calloway is my new fiancé. When he suggests we get married, I nearly laugh in his face. That is… until he points out just how much I need him. I’m single, pregnant and alone in a tight-knit town I ran away from five years ago. I’ve burned every bridge there is to burn in Hermosa Beach, and assumed my life would just continue to go up in flames. But who knows? Marrying Ben just might be the answer to all of my problems. Remmy Wallace is my new bride-to-be. I wanted a family once. Until an act of betrayal stole my vision for the future. Now, I’m lying in wait until I can figure out how to bring down the man who hurt me. And marrying Remmy could be exactly what I need. She wants to know what I get out of the deal, but what am I supposed to say? Not the truth, that’s for sure. My reasons are my own, and I plan for them to stay that way.
Welcome to Hermosa Beach.

Give Me Everything is the third book in the Hermosa Beach Series.
It is highly recommended that all books in the series be read in order as they contain significant spoilers and interwoven storylines.
The first book in the series is called Promise Me Nothing

REVIEW: There’s something really intriguing to me about characters that aren’t seen in the best light in prior books in the series. Ben has been a little bit of a mystery, so getting to know him more was really fun! And Remmy, well, the first impression wasn’t great in Be Your Anything. She didn’t do anything that I thought was really horrible, but I was really interested in learning her backstory. I needed to know what got her to the situation she was in with Lucas and why she treated him the way she did. It was just enjoyable seeing these to fall for each other and learn more about each other throughout the story. Their chemistry was really wonderful throughout the book as well. Although Ben was definitely attracted to Remmy, he did a good job about not making it just about physical stuff between them. He definitely did not have altruistic motives in the beginning, but the way he proceeded throughout the journey they were on made me really like him as a character. Overall, I kind of fell for these two and I’m glad we got their story.

And Mason will do anything to keep her and her loved ones safe—even if that means the ring of wedding bells. But as a new spark ignites between them, someone is watching. And they’ll do whatever it takes to snuff out that light for good.

Review: Talk about tearing my heart out in the best way! I LOVED THIS ONE!! I sincerely enjoy romantic suspense that’s done right, and Catherine Cowles is amazing at writing these books. There is something about characters that have lived through a bunch of difficult experiences, but remain really good people that makes me so invested in them as characters. It also makes their happy ever after that much more satisfying. Mason is definitely going to be added to the book boyfriend list! His pursuit of Anna was so endearing. I enjoyed watching both of them try to figure out how to get past their own trauma responses in the current situations. Anna was such an awesome female lead–she’s just so strong, yet caring, and I really appreciated her as a person. Her hangups were totally valid, and although I wanted her to get over them for her own sake, it was done in a realistic way throughout the book. Anna and Mason’s interactions with her niece and nephew were absolutely precious and added so much to the story. I loved this book. I loved the whole storyline! There was so much going on, but in a way that wasn’t overwhelming and made the happy ever after that much better!! Seriously, read this one if you like romantic suspense, fake relationships, and a tragic backstory.

The Marriage Effect by Karla Sorensen

Release Date: June 12, 2019

Publisher: Dutch Girl Publishing

Logan Ward doesn’t want any more women in his life.

Being a football player and legal guardian to his four younger sisters means his playbook is full. However, one of them just landed in the hospital, which gives his brother the shot he needs to challenge Logan for custody.

Legal counsel says there’s only one thing Logan can do—find himself a wife.

Paige McKinney doesn’t always think things through.

Like walking away from her modeling career without a thought of what might come next. She really doesn’t think it through when she proclaims herself Logan’s fiancé at the hospital, simply because the sexy—albeit grumpy—football player forgot his cell phone at a party and security won’t let her pass. It’s not her fault it was overheard by the worst possible person.

A bargain is struck, and a fake marriage is the perfect solution. But the simple solution creates a whole new problem: they’re not as different as they seem. The reluctant groom has fire inside him, and his impetuous bride is about to light the match.

Love, love, love this one!

I could not put this book down. Seriously, Logan is everything I could want in a book boyfriend. He’s delicious, and loyal, and caring, and perfectly imperfect. Paige is strong, caring, and smart. I mean I just fell utterly in love with them together, and how they interacted with Logan’s sisters. Every Ward added something magical to this story, and I just had to devour it. I mean I liked the first book in the series a lot, but I am head over heels in love with this one! Go read it and be happy!

The Highland Earl by Amy Jarecki

4.5 STARS!

Release Date: June 25, 2019

Publisher: Forever (Grand Central Publishing)

Mr. & Mrs. Smith meets Outlander in this action-packed Scottish romance where a marriage of convenience leads to secrets that could be deadly.

With two young sons to care for and a large estate to run, John Erskine, the widowed Earl of Mar, needs to remarry as quickly as possible. And beautiful Lady Evelyn Pierrepont would be the perfect match. But there’s more behind the English lass’s calm demeanor than she’s letting on, including a smoldering allure not even John can ignore.

Evelyn has no desire to wed the rugged Scottish earl, but at least she’ll be able to continue her work as a spy-as long as her husband never finds out. Yet the more time Evelyn spends with John and his boys, the fonder she grows of their little family, and the last thing she wants to do is put them in danger. As alliances shift and enemies draw closer, soon everything they hold dear is at risk: their lands, their love, and their very lives.

The fact that Evelyn is a spy was what initially intrigued me and had me picking this one up! It did not disappoint. This historical romance has the slowest burn during this marriage of convenience. I enjoyed watching both characters get to know each other, and how Evelyn’s relationships with John (the Earl of Mar), and his sons develop. All the twists and turns and connections between different characters kept me guessing the whole way. I loved the use of the historical era in this one also, and that’s not just because I have a thing for highlanders. Haha. Although this is one great highlander, who is as caring as he is hot. Don’t get me wrong he has his faults, but he figures it out. Evelyn is definitely a match as a caring woman, even if she is a little on the naive side but it works for this story. If you like highlanders, romance, historical romances, I definitely recommend this one!

Stay by Tia Louise

Release Date: June 11, 2019

Stephen Hastings is a control freak.
He’s arrogant. He’s smart as a whip and sexy AF.
He has too much money. He’s bossy, and he’s usually right.
All I saw were his clear blue eyes, tight ass, and ripped torso.
I gladly handed him my V-card that night, ten years ago.
I was so stupid. I swore I’d never be that stupid again…

Emmy Barton works for a dry cleaner?
Yes, that Emmy Barton—long, blonde hair, bright blue eyes, pretty smile…
Sexy little ass. Smart mouth.
She was the only girl who interested me, but I was leaving to be an officer in the Navy.

Now I’m home, running my business, my life is perfectly ordered until I bump into her, divorced and struggling to make ends meet.
I hate seeing her like this. I hate that she married Burt “The Dick” Dickerson. What an asshole.

She says she hates me, but when we fight, it’s all heat and lust.
I won’t leave her this way.
She will let me help her and her son. She will stay…
It’s a thin line between love and hate, and this line is on fire.

(STAY is a STAND-ALONE enemies-to-lovers, second-chance, marriage of convenience romance. No cheating. No cliffhangers.)

I really enjoyed this fast paced and sexy romance read. The tropes are real in this one too, and I’m a fan! Second-chance romance, enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, single parent romance, brother’s friend (although that isn’t a huge part of it). The chemistry between the characters is just yummy! This was my first Tia Louise read, but I’m kind of guessing the rollercoaster of emotions is her style. The author did a very good job of establishing enough of the backstory for the male lead before his questionable tryst with the leading lady, to keep me totally on board. I mean to take me from a place where I wasn’t sure about Stephen to rooting for him, is exactly what I want in a romance read. I absolutely love when my feelings about a character change as I read–it makes it more realistic for me.
