SYNOPSIS: It was supposed to be a quick conversation with a cute boy at the airport while I dodged my ex and his new girlfriend. We weren’t supposed to trade numbers. He wasn’t supposed to be a football player. And I definitely wasn’t supposed to fall for him since he’s attending a college a thousand miles away. I saw past his jersey. And he saw past my last name. Now it’s semester break, and by some Christmas miracle, he’s going to be close. So close. I want to meet him again, but there’s just one problem. My older brother can’t, under any circumstances, find out I’m dating his rival.
This is a Holiday Novella set in the Valley U universe by Rebecca Jenshak!
REVIEW: This one was super cute! I was really excited to find out what happened to Beau and Stella after getting a glimpse of the drama during Snowed in with the Player. I like that these two had a quick connection, but they got to know each other slowly. There is a little more emotion in this one than the first, and it brought a little bit of depth to the story, even though it’s a cute holiday romance. I loved seeing these two get their happy ever after, despite how discouraged they were with the barriers they faced. I sincerely enjoyed reading both of these novellas for the holiday season!

𝐋𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐁𝐔𝐙𝐙 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐋 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄: Rumor around town is a certain matriarch of the Bailey family is having a 𝐁𝐈𝐆 𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐓𝐇𝐃𝐀𝐘! It’s even spurred a few of the Bailey kids to return home to celebrate with their beloved great-grandmother, Dori. In fact, now that there are twenty-six Bailey great-grandchildren the event is going to be overflowing with laughter and love. Also… I heard that Piper & Rayne have been speaking to some of the kids (i.e. Calista, Maverick, Easton, Brinley and Palmer) and so we’re getting some special POV’s. I can’t wait to report my findings the day after the party
REVIEW: Seriously, THE BAILEY’S! I just love them so very much and it has been amazing to see them all grow and add to the family. What a way to end it, with the most hilarious Bailey of all, Grandma Dori. I freakin’ love her, and this was so much fun. She makes the party really. It was really cool to get the POV of the eldest Bailey child too. I think this was a great wrap up, and it definitely got me ready to move onto The Greene Family Series, aka Ethel’s family!

Synopsis: Lexie – I don’t date football players. As an unproven sideline reporter, I need to show I’m more than a pretty face. And I have the perfect opportunity when my boss asks me to dig into the rookie wide receiver, Gavin Keller. Coming from a family of football stars, he’s my chance to write a huge story about the newest Keller to go pro. I need to get to know the man under the pads. Is he an arrogant entitled player or is there a side to him no one knows about? The more I watch Gavin at practice and when he mentors young athletes, the more I realize he’s nothing like I thought. He’s a leader, someone the fans can rally behind. The more I see, the more I like him—not the player. And the looks he gives me say he feels the same. As we get closer, I’m tempted to break my no-player rule. But if anyone finds out, it’s my job on the line. Giving in would mean losing everything.
Gavin – I’ve always had more to prove than any of my teammates. I know what everyone says about me. Since the first time I touched a ball, I’ve been living in the shadow of my family’s football legacy. My life is focused on my game and giving back and nothing else. I’m not giving anyone another reason to talk. That’s until the new reporter, Lexie Austin appears on the sidelines in her skin-tight tailored suits and sky-high heels. They say she’s only here because of her looks, just like they say I’m only here because of my name. So what if everyone is as wrong about her as me? She’s more than a pretty face and I’m playing better than ever with her watching. It’s starting to feel like she’s my personal good luck charm. She doesn’t care about my last name, my signing bonus, or my star potential. She wants to know me. I want her in my bed, by my side, and in my life. Now I just have to convince her that if she falls, it’ll be the luckiest catch I ever make.
Lucky Catch is part of Kristen Proby’s With Me in Seattle Universe.
Review: I’m loving this idea of different authors writing characters that are in the same fictional world–this one being Kristen Proby’s Seattle Universe. I was also curious, since these are novellas, how Lea Coll’s would go. I find her writing to have quite a bit of depth, so I was curious how would she do what she normally does in only 105 pages. I was pleasantly surprised to find this one was just as good as her longer books! Both characters were super admirable, so it made me so excited to see their HEA. It’s such a sweet story of two people getting to know each other and seeing past the assumptions people usually make about them. Gavin will definitely make you swoon and is such a good match for the amazing Lexie. I’d definitely recommend reading this one!
The expectations were heavy for any rookie, but I’d lived under the shadow of my father’s legendary success and my brother’s rise to stardom. I’d seen the recent headlines: Gavin Keller was drafted because of his last name—any other player with similar stats wouldn’t be playing professional ball. The implication was clear—I’d never live up to my father or my brother’s success. There was no way three football stars could come from the same family. There were many examples of three brothers in the sport or two brothers and a father, but one usually didn’t live up to the hype.
“That was impressive,” a female voice said.
I turned away from the other rookies running sprints to find a tall woman leaning on the fence, with a press lanyard hanging around her neck. She was gorgeous. Her smile was open and friendly.
“Thanks.” My voice was terse. I didn’t want to encourage the press to speak to me. I didn’t want anyone twisting my words to suit the headlines already written in their head.
Her smile faltered for a second before she recovered. “I’m Alexandra Austin. But everyone calls me Lexie.”
“Gavin Keller.” I didn’t move toward her. No matter how beautiful this woman was, I couldn’t afford any distractions. She was the worst kind of distraction—all long legs, dark hair, and striking blue eyes. The suit she wore molded to her body but still left a lot to my imagination.
“I know.” She smiled wider.
It was on the tip of my tongue to say she didn’t. No one knew anything beyond my name and stats.
“I’m hoping to get to know you this year.” She said it matter-of-factly with no overtures or flirtations.
I wasn’t sure how to respond to that. Her tone was sweet and inviting. I flicked a glance at her Seattle lanyard. She wasn’t the enemy, but she wasn’t exactly a friend either.

Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series.
REVIEW: This was a cute second chance romance. When the male lead is super determined, but also genuine, it makes the story so much better. I really love the passion these two share, and getting a glimpse into their past when they visit the family and friends! For a novella These novellas are a good intro to a new author’s work, but I do think I would have liked this even more if I had read the series it was apart of. I may have to check out the other books in the Stay Series!

No one could have guessed a marriage could sprout from a one-night stand, but Holly Radcliffe and Austin Bailey appear to be written in the stars. From the backseat of Austin’s Jeep to the altar they come. The town of Lake Starlight along with the Bailey’s are prepping for the event of the year, but as usual things never go smoothly with these nine siblings and let’s not forget Grandma Dori!
This is a novella in the Bailey series!
This series has been so much fun so far, and I love getting more of the Bailey family! Grandma Dori is a real gem, and I love her appearances. We get Holly and Austin’s meet-cute and story in Lessons from a One-Night Stand, the first book in the Bailey’s series, and it is so awesome to get to see their wedding in this novel. Of course this story contains shenanigans, sass, and all the wonderfulness that is the Bailey family! I am counting down the days until book 4: Falling for my Best Friend’s Brother (October 17th 2019). Don’t forget to visit the Lake Starlight Buzz Wheel for all the good gossip.
