SYNOPSIS: I broke the cardinal rule and slept with my sister’s best friend. Granted, I’d just found out that I was now a single father to a three-year-old little girl and was low on willpower. It should also be noted that there’s been sexual tension between us for years. There’s no way it would be a surprise if anyone in our small town found out. That is if we were telling people, which we’re not. We’re in agreement to keep our affair a secret, especially since neither one of us do relationships. You’ve probably figured it out already, but things didn’t go as planned.
This is Book 4 in The Greene Family Series!
REVIEW: I absolutely love how Jed’s story was done. For me, a romance about a guy that is seen as a player or a ladies man can be really easy to ruin. But piper Rayne did a fantastic job! I love the friendship and the development of feelings between Jed and Molly. I also love how all the Greenes and the meddling grandmas play a part in their story. Emilia was such a joy in this one as well. Watching the developing relationships between her and both Jed and Molly was absolutely precious. This book was just done so well and I enjoyed every single minute of it. I love the realness of their experiences playing a part in their worldview, as well as the growth that takes place because of those experiences. This book left me with a smile on my face. This series is turning out to be really fun and I’m really excited for the next book with Fisher. As usual, we get a nice little sneak peek at the end of this book about the next one, My Unexpected Surprise, and let’s just say I am counting down the days until I get to read it (December 14th if you’re curious). I sincerely love The Greenes and it’s so awesome that you can start with the parents’ story (Hank and Marla) in My Twist of Fortune!

Piper Rayne, or Piper and Rayne, whichever you prefer because we’re not one author, we’re two. Yep, you get two USA Today Bestselling authors for the price of one. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have “Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle” (okay…you caught us, that’s our tagline). A little about us… We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We’re both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We’re both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
SYNOPSIS: I’m Jake Masterson, single dad, and the General Manager of Seattle’s NHL team. I walked away from a career as a player so I could raise my daughter. For the last twenty-plus years, Queenie has been my main priority, but now she’s getting married. And there’s a small complication. A beautiful, sexy complication named Hanna.
She’s my son-in-law’s older sister. Or at least that’s how they were raised. The truth is a little more scandalous than that. I’ve been drawn to her from the moment I laid eyes on her. And I spent months trying to keep a lid on that attraction. Until we finally give in. It starts with one searing kiss, but quickly ends with us between the sheets—and in the shower, and the hot tub, you get the picture—and turns into months of sneaking around. Here’s the problem: we live on opposite ends of the country. It can’t be anything but casual. And as I’ve already said…it’s complicated. But when Hanna finds out she’s pregnant…suddenly things get real serious.
This is Book 4 in the All In Series!
REVIEW: I’ve have really loved this series! The fact that these standalones are interconnected adds to each story in the best way. Getting to meet characters before we get their stories always makes me more invested in them. After the last book, A Secret for a Secret, it was really neat to see King and Queenie play such a big part in this story. This one was definitely an emotional roller coaster. Hannah and Jake are just so interesting and the situation is just not what I was expecting. Hannah has had a really rough road. It was really interesting getting her full backstory after meeting her and finding out the shocking news about her in the previous book. These two together are so great in the beginning, but get some stuff thrown their way and it’s a damn experience for them. Overall, this was not quite what I was expecting, but it was definitely a good journey for the characters. This one, and Little Lies, are both heavy on the angst and I feel like that makes sense with her writing them during the pandemic. Something Helena hunting does a great job at is writing a group of people that become one big family, whether they’re related or not. I think the ending of this book made me so happy, because of all of the characters from the series show just what it means to be a family!
