Wild Love by Rebecca Jenshak

5 STARS!

Release Date: October 26, 2021

SYNOPSIS: Johnny Maverick is a lot of things.
Great hockey player.
Loyal friend.
Rule breaker.
Always up for a good time.
And now, he’s my new roommate. It’s only for a few weeks while I intern for the Wildcats—his new NHL team. And there are some pros to living with my hot and ridiculous friend (or is that ridiculously hot?). He’s fun and unexpectedly sweet, and he reminds me not to take myself too seriously. I had no intention of breaking the one rule given to me on my first day on the job: no sleeping with the players. And if I had, I never dreamed that player would be Johnny Maverick.

This is the last book in the Campus Nights series!

REVIEW: THIS SERIES! I have honestly loved EVERY SINGLE BOOK in the Campus Nights series from Rebecca Jenshak. Each couple is so unique in their issues, but so real, and so good for each other. I’m not a huge fan of friends-to-lovers, but luckily it has some of my other favorites like forced proximity and secret relationship. Plus, I had to know Maverick’s story! I mean all the games of sardines, all the banter, I knew I was going to love these two. This book did not disappoint. I just had so many feelings, which is exactly what I want from a great romance. The thing about Rebecca‘s books is that while she can definitely have you laughing your butt off, she also covers the real issues that people deal with on differing levels. It makes me sincerely appreciate all of the characters. I don’t want to give much more away, so I’m going to leave it at that, but honestly, you need to read this whole series!!

Broken Hearts by Rebecca Jenshak

5 STARS!

Release Date: July 13, 2021

SYNOPSIS: She’s a figure skater. He’s a hockey player. Things are about to heat up on the ice. Rhett Rauthruss is single for the first time in six years. He’s fresh off a long-term, long-distance relationship and ready to make the most of what’s left of college.
Party with his boys, get to the Frozen Four with his team, and maybe play the field for a change. Sienna Hale knows a thing or two about heartbreak. She’s a college athlete about to skate for the last time, and nothing is going to throw her off course. Not her worries about finding a job after college, not the whispers of last year’s accident on the ice, and not the cute hockey player who keeps asking her out. They think they want different things, but when it heats up between them, there’s no denying they have something in common–even if it’s just for a night.

This is Book 3 in the Campus Nights series!

REVIEW: THIS SERIES! I have honestly loved EVERY SINGLE BOOK in the Campus Nights series from Rebecca Jenshak. Each couple is so unique in their issues, but so real, and so good for each other. Rhett and Sienna are so stickin’ cute. Something I love about Rebecca Jenshak’s books is that I can be laughing my butt off in one chapter, and then clutching my heart with all the emotions I’m feeling in the next. And I do have to say the beginning this book had me laughing pretty hard! I’ve been so curious about Rhett this whole time because we met him in the previous books. He’s in this weird long distance relationship that isn’t a great one and the guys don’t exactly support. From what little glimpses we get of him, I also got this impression of him being a very sweet and loyal guy, but really getting him to know him in this book was so much better! The first interactions he has with Sienna are hilariously awful. But the progression of them together had me very, very invested. Sienna was a very interesting character, because we get to see her later on in her growth where she has a great maturity and handle on her situation. Everything she’s dealt with, and is still currently dealing with health-wise, really made her fascinating. We don’t get to see her growth as much, but she still pulls you into the story. I also really enjoyed her friendship with Silas. What the friendship is built on and how they were there for each other in a way only they could was heartwarming. Silas has one of the quotes that I love the most:

“Do you want to know what makes me and Sienna so close? What makes any two people close, I’d wager?” I don’t respond, but he keeps going. “Going through challenging shit together. Being vulnerable and letting the other person see all your fucked-up-ness…” There’s a little more, but I don’t want to spoil it anything!

It’s also really awesome to see the couples from the last two books! I think what I love the most about series that have standalone books is that you get the complete story in one book, but you get to revisit the characters throughout the other books. It makes me feel like there’s this group of people that you’re really invested in and you really want to see them get their happy ever afters! And not only do you get to see them get their happy ever after, you then get to see them living their happy ever after while their friends are on their own personal journey. Not only are the couple stories amazing, but also how the whole friend group is supportive of each other. They all experience major ups and downs, but their friends have their backs. The thing about Rebecca‘s books is that while she can definitely have you laughing your butt off, she also covers the real issues that people deal with on differing levels. Sometimes those issues are super emotional and you need the help of your friends and family to get through it. The characters in this one are just so great! I appreciate all of the side characters in different ways, and I’m definitely looking forward to learning more about Maverick and Dakota as the series continues!

Jock Royal by Sara Ney

5 STARS

Release Date: June 23, 2021

SYNOPSIS: IT’S EASY TO TAKE ONE DARE WHEN YOU THINK IT’S HARMLESS. Ashley Dryden-Jones is the best rugby player on the field—when I take a dare I instantly regret, I had no way of knowing he was a gentleman. An athlete. British with no plans to stay in the States. He makes me forget myself, bruises, 5 o’clock shadow, accent and all. He makes me forget I cannot crawl into bed with him at night—or get drunk and throw caution to the wind for once in my overly cautious life. Because he’s my new roommate.
ONE STUPID BET LEADS TO ONE UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT. When I win a trip to Vegas I need a plus one; he’s the strapping, strong and responsible choice. Besides—I’ve never been anywhere and he has. He is the best friend I didn’t know I needed. Ashley is one of the good ones—but I’m about to find out how bad this good boy can be.

Jock Royal is Book 4 in the Jock Hard Series
and available in Kindle Unlimited!

REVIEW: Sara Ney has been coming in HOT with new book boyfriend material lately.
And let me just tell you, this is by far my most favorite of the Jock Hard series. I fell hard for Ash and Georgia. Seriously, I could not put this book down and it pulled me right out of the book slump I was in! I always go into Sara Ney’s books without reading the synopsis, so this book took a couple turns I was not expecting (in the best way). Seriously, I loved every single minute! Ash is definitely book boyfriend material. The way he is with Georgia, even when he’s a little clueless, just made me smile. And Georgia is a total peach! She is adorably sweet in her pursuit to redeem herself after that horrific first impression she had on him–let’s just say this isn’t a meet cute for them. I just had so much fun seeing their relationship morph and grow as they became closer–literally because, roommates, ya know? Haha. Anyway, my point is GO READ THIS BOOK! Hot rugged rugby player with an accent who is caring and giving, do I need to sell you on this anymore?!

Even though the team was at the bottom of the hockey standings, I had big plans to change that and bring the Cup to Dallas. Falling in love was something I never believed would happen to me. You’d think I was getting everything I ever wanted with the girl and the winning record, but I still have a promise to fulfill to my childhood best friend.

Nico is everything I’ve never let myself want. But all my cards came crashing down the minute I read the headlines. It takes only one touch to change everything!

Book 4 is Nico and Becca’s Story
in the Only One series!

Review: I really liked Becca throughout the series so far, so I was super excited to get her story. She’s this super strong and competent woman that deals with a ton of Athletes very successfully. Nico is the young owner of the Oilers, and has shown to really have his players back when they need it. In other words, both of these characters were fascinating to me before I even started this book! Getting to know more about them and their stances on relationships really made the story. The beginning reeled me right in, that’s for sure! Just seeing them adapt to finding themselves and their feelings for each other, was so entertaining. In true Natasha Madison fashion, the drama was real, and man did it make me want to smack some sense into both of them, but I did love the happy ending! I can’t wait for the next book in the Only One Series!!

Bad Crush by Rebecca Jenshak

5 STARS!

Release Date: April 26, 2021

SYNOPSIS: Reasons not to crush on Adam:
He’s my best friend’s brother.
He’s my neighbor.
He’s the captain of the hockey team.
He’s a serial monogamist who’s sworn off dating.

Reasons not to fake date Adam:
See above.
He has no idea I actually like him—like really like him.

But do I listen to any of those really great reasons? Of course not.
Now, thanks to my amazing and convincing acting skills, one fake date ends with him being my fake fiancé (oops!).
My bad crush has gotten me in way over my head.

This is Book 2 in the Campus Nights series
and a Best Friend’s Brother, Friends to Lovers Romance!

REVIEW: This freaking series!! Holy crap. I mean I’m obsessed with this series. I love all of the characters. Rebecca Jenshak is just killing it with the depth and the connection between the characters. I really, really loved the first book, and now I really, really love this one. I sincerely enjoy the glimpses of the two main characters readers get to see in the first book, Secret Puck, and how that gave foundation of what the characters were like. Seeing them come together made a lot more sense with the background we get in book one about Adam. Getting to know Reagan was absolutely awesome, because while readers learn about her unrequited crush on Adam, we really don’t get to know much more about her. Just getting to know her more, seeing how amazing she is, the depth to her character, and her past experiences that have brought her to where she is made her utterly endearing. I also feel like I didn’t love Adam in the first book, but that totally changed as I got to know him as a character. How he responds to everything that happens with Reagan and the connection that was built with her were wonderful. There was never an interaction with them that I didn’t like. I think they both had a lot to figure out with all their own baggage coming into play, but I loved seeing them get their act together and find each other.

Another part of the series that’s so amazing is that all the characters are awesome. The side characters are so much fun. I honestly can’t wait until we get the other stories–Maverick, Dakota, and Rhett. I’m pretty excited to see what Rebecca Jenshak does with Maverick’s book, because he is wild but in the best way. And Dakota is a total spitfire. Rhett is next and it’s going to be interesting with the strange long-distance relationship that we’ve seen going on. I just need to know more about him, because from what I’ve seen he is an awesome boyfriend and deserves all happiness. July 13th can’t come soon enough!

Hard Luck by Sara Ney

5 STARS

Release Date: March 25, 2021

SYNOPSIS: SOME GIRLS HAVE ALL THE LUCK
Unfortunately, I am not one of those girls. Not when I lost my apartment because my roommate let the lease lapse while I was traveling for work. Not when my brothers keep finding love and my mother keeps reminding me I’m still single. Not after a one-night stand during my older brother’s wedding has me waking up pregnant. I have to keep it a secret—from him, and my family. I sure can’t tell my brother his teammate, Mateo Jose Espinoza, is the man I slept with. Confident, funny, Mateo…
A GUY CAN’T CATCH A BREAK
Just when I thought I’d found the girl of my dreams, she ghosts me. Worse? Her brother refuses to give me her number, and my calls to her office go straight to voicemail. I thought I was a catch; professional athlete, charming, raised with six sisters—I’m a guy who knows his way to a woman’s heart! What reason could she possibly have for avoiding me?When I finally catch up to True Wallace, I’m going to get the answer.

Hard Luck is Book 4 in the Trophy Boyfriends Series
and available in Kindle Unlimited!

REVIEW: Well, that was freaking adorable. Mateo is definitely a book boyfriend and I love him so much. He is the definition of SWOON. His sisters are hilarious too! Obviously we know the Wallace family already, they are quite a trip, and I’m not referring just to the brother (pun intended). They’re all a little over-the-top and ridiculous in the best way. I think the family dynamics really play into True’s actions in the beginning–which I wanted to shake her for. Luckily, as a story went on I just fell more in love with Mateo and his relentless pursuit of True. I really wanted them to get their happy ever after! Also, Molly is such a hilarious side character and has brought so much the last two stories of this series. Something that I enjoy about these books are all of the side characters and how much they add to each book. And as usual, Sara Ney has me laughing ridiculously hard over all the antics of these weirdo characters who I truly want to be friends with.

5 STARS

Release Date: February 15, 2021

SYNOPSIS: I’m banished to Vermont for a scandal that wasn’t my fault, and broke because my famous father cut me off. And did I mention my roommate stole my boyfriend? Yeah, I’m loving my Moo U experience.  Now I need a job, because this gel manicure won’t upkeep itself. The only available option is the last one I’d ever want–a job as the hockey team’s equipment manager. My plan is to do the bare minimum, get paid, and find my way back into my father’s good graces.  I will not get involved with a hockey player, no matter how hot. They’re cocky. And obnoxious. I know their type, and I’m not willing to risk getting hurt again. Until Lex Vonne glides into my life looking like sin on a stick.
He thinks I’m a spoiled brat.
I think he’s using me to get ahead.
But the fire I feel when we’re together is like a slapshot to my heart…

This is book 2 in the new Moo U series that takes place
in Sarina Bowen’s True North World!

REVIEW: Wow, talk about a damaged character! Kaitlyn has so many things to work through and I wasn’t expecting her to be such a mess throughout the book. The first scene with her friend Vivian and Lex pissed me right off, but also got me totally invested in seeing what happened. I needed to know what happened. Lex is pretty endearing through the whole story and I appreciated his drive and dedication. I also thought Kaitlyn‘s dad was ridiculously clueless, but in a pretty realistic way. The drama is definitely real in this one with the way Kaitlyn starts her year at Moo U. She has to listen to her ex and her roommate getting busy in the next room. She’s ridiculously resistant to Lex. Even the way she handled her ex when things got rough. This whole book was not what I thought it was going to be, because it got really deep. I enjoyed how the story came together, how the characters figured stuff out, and the hilarious ending! I love this world and I love Rebecca Jenshak’s writing. Plus, I got a new book boyfriend with Lex!

Blindsided by Victoria Denault

5 STARS

Release Date: February 15, 2021

SYNOPSIS: What if Romeo wore hockey skates, and Juliet was raised on a farm next door?
As a life-long Vermonter, there are three beliefs I’ve always held true:
1. Our family farm is everything
2. Hockey is a close second
3. The Todds next door are our sworn enemies

But this season will test everything I stand for.  I have an illicit side job that could cost me my hockey scholarship. And now Maggie Todd knows my secret. She’s waiting for the right moment to use it against me. But every time I face off against her, I learn things I shouldn’t want to know. Like how deeply her competitive streak runs, and how sexy that is. And how easy it is to make her blush… everywhere. An Adler and a Todd cannot be lovers. Breaking that rule is like pulling a pin on a grenade–everything in my life could blow up. Can we surrender to these feelings… or will our families’ feud make us its next casualty?

This is book 1 in the new Moo U series that takes place
in Sarina Bowen’s True North World!

REVIEW: I first discovered Victoria Denault from her San Francisco Thunder Series which I sincerely loved. I’ve also read almost every Sarina Bowen book including the True North series, which is the world where this book takes place. Obviously when I saw that Victoria Denault was writing in this world, I knew I had to have it. Were my expectations super high for this one? Yes! Did I completely and utterly hype this book up in my head? Yes, again. Did this book meet all of those expectations and all the hype? You better believe it!

This enemies-to-lovers, Romeo and Juliet type story hit the spot. I loved every moment, from seeing Magnolia and Tate interact as enemies in the beginning, as well as falling for each other throughout the story. While falling, they’re also questioning the family feud that started before they were even born. There are so many layers to what’s going on, because it’s not just them and their relationship. It’s college, their families, and the success of their farms. This book touches on what the next generation can bring when the older generation is willing to work with them. It touches on some really valid biases that people in the older generation can carry and how that impacts progress. I really enjoyed seeing Magnolia and her sister Daisy work together to figure out what they could do to help the farm that wasn’t doing so well. Overall, I just really love this book. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the other authors do with the other hockey players that were Tate’s friends in this world!

Victoria Denault

Victoria’s love of books began at 12 when she picked up her first Sweet Valley High and grew from there. Her favorite childhood gift remains the 1930s typewriter her parents found at a garage sale which actually wasn’t a gift for her. It was meant to be a display piece in their front hall but Victoria snuck it into her bedroom and it was on that typewriter she first began pounding out her own stories.

When not writing books Victoria can usually be found on a beach somewhere. Her favorite beaches are La Concha in San Sebastian, Spain, Zuma Beach in Malibu California and Ocean Park, Maine.

Not My Match by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Not my Match is Book 2 in the Game Changers Series
and available in Kindle Unlimited!

5 STARS!

Release Date: January 19, 2021

SYNOPSIS: Homeless and heartbreakingly innocent, Giselle Riley walks into my penthouse and chaos follows. I shouldn’t have invited the girl genius to live with me, but it’s clear she needs my help—not only for a place to lay her pretty blonde head but in finding real love, which she’s not going to get with the crazy men she picks up online. Too bad she’s a twenty-four-year-old virgin and I’m a bad boy wide receiver. She’s off limits for a hardcore player like me—and we’re just friends. Instead, I’m her matchmaking service, no matter how jealous it makes me when I tag along on her dates. I can keep my self-control. Right? No way will I give in to everything inside me that dreams of a girl like her in my world. I may be the best wide receiver in the country, but how could I hold on to a girl like her?

REVIEW: I have been curious about Giselle since first meeting her during the unfortunate circumstances in book one, Not my Romeo. She’s not exactly the antagonist, but she does make a big mistake that hurts her sister Elena (the main character of book 1). It was really interesting to read Giselle’s story and learn more about her. I ended up really loving her as a character. It fascinated me how lost she was, but also how strong and smart she was. She was a bit of a contradiction, that’s for sure. Her and Devon’s interactions were entertaining, and I appreciated seeing her deal with how Devon was so on the fence about everything. Devon is a little damaged from not only his childhood, but his last relationship–which means he’s definitely my type of hero! He also handled the difficult situations fairly well, even though I wanted him to figure things out a lot faster. I really did want these two characters to find their happiness together. I’ve also really enjoyed Aiden in both books, he’s a great side character! He seems like he might have a lot more depth than how he’s comes off so far. I’m hoping we get his book! Overall, this is another Ilsa Madden-Mills book I loved and just reiterated why she is an auto-buy author for me!

Only One Night By Natasha Madison

Book 3 is Manning’s Story
in the Only One series!

5 STARS

Release Date: January 5, 2021

SYNOPSIS: Manning – As captain of the Dallas Oilers, I was their leader on and off the ice. From the outside, it looked like I had the perfect life. I didn’t. I was married to a woman who refused to give me a divorce. All she wanted was the status title, and all I wanted was to be set free. It was supposed to be just another event, except it took a turn I didn’t see coming.

Evelyn – Attending my best friend’s bachelorette party isn’t something I was looking forward to.
But it’s strange what a couple of glasses of wine will do. It was one night, and I thought I would never see him again. Especially not coming face-to-face with him and his wife while picking up my nephew from hockey practice. All it takes is one kiss, one touch, one chance, and only one night.

Review: I have been looking forward to Manning’s story since readers started getting hints about him and his crazy wife in previous books! It did not disappoint. The captin of the hockey team that doesn’t have any social media and hates his wife? I mean, what the hell is going on with this guy?? I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know more about him and the situation he was in. Seeing how he handled everything throughout the story, was frustrating, but also made me appreciate him as a male character as the story went on. Evelyn is put in such a difficult spot, and watching her navigate all of it made me really like her as a character as well. She is always trying to do the right thing, but most of the time none of the choices are good ones. I think I just really liked Manning and Evelyn together, so I was rooting for them to get their happy ending. I’m pretty freakin’ excited about the next book Only One Touch!

Meet Natasha Madison

When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals.
