and a Best Friend’s Brother, Friends to Lovers Romance!

REVIEW: This freaking series!! Holy crap. I mean I’m obsessed with this series. I love all of the characters. Rebecca Jenshak is just killing it with the depth and the connection between the characters. I really, really loved the first book, and now I really, really love this one. I sincerely enjoy the glimpses of the two main characters readers get to see in the first book, Secret Puck, and how that gave foundation of what the characters were like. Seeing them come together made a lot more sense with the background we get in book one about Adam. Getting to know Reagan was absolutely awesome, because while readers learn about her unrequited crush on Adam, we really don’t get to know much more about her. Just getting to know her more, seeing how amazing she is, the depth to her character, and her past experiences that have brought her to where she is made her utterly endearing. I also feel like I didn’t love Adam in the first book, but that totally changed as I got to know him as a character. How he responds to everything that happens with Reagan and the connection that was built with her were wonderful. There was never an interaction with them that I didn’t like. I think they both had a lot to figure out with all their own baggage coming into play, but I loved seeing them get their act together and find each other.

Another part of the series that’s so amazing is that all the characters are awesome. The side characters are so much fun. I honestly can’t wait until we get the other stories–Maverick, Dakota, and Rhett. I’m pretty excited to see what Rebecca Jenshak does with Maverick’s book, because he is wild but in the best way. And Dakota is a total spitfire. Rhett is next and it’s going to be interesting with the strange long-distance relationship that we’ve seen going on. I just need to know more about him, because from what I’ve seen he is an awesome boyfriend and deserves all happiness. July 13th can’t come soon enough!

Let it be Me By Kait Nolan

Book One in the Men of the Misfit Inn series!

Release Date: January 8, 2021

SYNOPSIS: Four years ago, firefighter Caleb Romero saved a child and met the woman of his dreams. But trauma killed the timing, so he’s contented himself with being the friend she needed as she navigated sudden parenthood. Four years ago, Emerson Aldridge became a mom in the worst possible way. Without qualm, she abandoned her own dreams to shepherd her teenage daughter through their shared grief. Her number one priority has been to raise Fiona the way her best friend would have wanted. Now Fi’s headed off to college and Emerson has no idea how to feel about her suddenly empty nest. She barely even remembers life before motherhood, but Caleb’s right next door to give her a reminder—along with a toe-curling kiss that catapults them past friends and into something more. The life she wanted before the accident is still within reach. He just has to convince her that their age difference means nothing.
Piece of cake. Right?

Review: Well this was adorable! I picked this up, because I love seeing how authors do the older woman in an age gap romance. Emerson and Caleb meet the night her best friend dies in a fire. Caleb ends up being the firefighter that saves her goddaughter. The actual romance doesn’t start until four years later when Fiona leaves to college. Caleb has been harboring a crush, but Emerson wasn’t aware because with him being younger, she didn’t think of him like that. She definitely has a bit of a hangup when it comes to him being 8 years younger. When she first find out about said crush it’s a little awkward, but super cute. Caleb is a great male lead! Even his relationship with Fiona is cute. If you want a fluffy read that’ll make you swoon, this one is for you.

Secret Puck by Rebecca Jenshak

Release Date: October 19, 2020

SYNOPSIS: Secretly hooking up with the team captain’s sister was a bad idea.
In my defense, the first time I saw her I didn’t know who she was.
Kind, gorgeous, a little naïve. Ginny brightened my world from day one.
I knew I was no good for her. She was just out of a relationship and I had a reputation for having a new girl in my bed every weekend.
I tried to do the right thing. Honest.
I’m the one who insisted we should be just friends.
That lasted about as long as you’d expect.
But Ginny? She’s the best – best friend, best everything.
So yeah, hooking up with the team captain’s sister wasn’t a great idea.
Would I do it again?
In a heartbeat.

REVIEW: I loved the characters. I loved the relationship. I loved all the friendships–the friend group was just super fun! Jenny is the actual sweetest, and just so freaking adorable. In the beginning the book, we read about the break up with her ex. You learn more about the whole situation later in the book, and it’s really bad. Yet she doesn’t even seem to really hold it against him, because she kind of just sees the good in everybody. Something I like about taming-the-bad-boy stories is that you always find out why they are the way they are. I sincerely enjoyed hearing Heath’s backstory and seeing the impact his childhood had on him. It made him such a realistic character. What really made me fall for him was that even though he had a crazy past he was really good to Jenny throughout the whole story. He’s definitely being added to the book boyfriend list. It’s also neat to see little glimpses of Nate and Chloe from The Fake, I didn’t even realize that Nate and Heath are brothers. The book gave me all the warm and fuzzy feelings, and by the end I was just so smitten with the whole damn story. I’m really excited for Jenny’s brother Adam to get his HEA in the next book!
