Garnet Flats by Devney Perry

4.5 STARS

Release Date: July 26, 2022

SYNOPSIS: Talia Eden loved Foster Madden for one year, two months and eleven days. It was on day 438 that her love died. The day he chose to marry her best friend. The day she vowed never to think of Foster again. Until years later when he has the audacity to show up in her small hometown of Quincy, begging for her help. The ink on his divorce papers is barely dry, yet he comes armed with apologies and promises. She knows it’s all a ploy. Foster is the king of games and secrets. But he’s got delusions the size of Montana if he thinks she’ll help him train for a world championship fight. Except Talia has forgotten exactly what made Foster famous. The man has dedicated his life to victory. He’s steadfast. He’s determined. And he won’t stop fighting until he’s won her heart.

REVIEW: In the previous book when we get the opening scene of this book, which is Talia avoiding Foster when he comes to Quincy. Right then, I had a feeling I would be totally intrigued by this one. Foster and Talia were all the angsty goodness. This story has so much depth and heartbreak and joy and everything in between. I loved the way Foster loved Talia. I love the way Talia loved foster. These two have had a difficult road, but I wanted happiness for them both so much. Each time they got a couple steps forward, they’d get hit with something that pushed them right back, but I still kept rooting for them. I sincerely enjoyed this entire story. I don’t want to give too much detail, because I really think that with everything that happens it’s important for the reader to just experience it as they go. Plus, I absolutely hate spoilers. Just know that this is an intense roller coaster ride of emotions, and you’ll definitely want to stick with it to find out what happens.

Also that ending!! I love when Devney Perry sets us up for the next book, and while I already have known the synopsis of the next book, and knew I was really excited for it, I also love the little part for Lyla in the end. I am now counting down the days until we get her book which hopefully will be after the next one.

After meeting each Eden sibling in Indigo Ridge, but not learning a whole lot, I was so ready for all the books in this series. I’m so fascinated by them, and cannot wait to see what happens to each of them in this series. Not to mention these covers?! Yes, I most definitely purchased the paperbacks!!

Thank you to Valentine PR and Devney Perry for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

Juniper Hill by Devney Perry

5 STARS

Release Date: January 11, 2022

SYNOPSIS: Memphis Ward arrives in Quincy, Montana, on the fifth worst day of her life. She needs a shower. She needs a snack. She needs some sanity. Because moving across the country with her newborn baby is by far the craziest thing she’s ever done.
But maybe it takes a little crazy to build a good life. If putting the past behind her requires a thousand miles and a new town, she’ll do it if it means a better future for her son. Even if it requires setting aside the glamour of her former life. Even if it requires working as a housekeeper at The Eloise Inn and living in an apartment above a garage.
It’s there, on the fifth worst day of her life, that she meets the handsomest man she’s ever laid eyes on. Knox Eden is a beautiful, sinful dream, a chef and her temporary landlord. With his sharp, stubbled jaw and tattooed arms, he’s raw and rugged and everything she’s never had–and never will. Because after the first worst day of her life, Memphis learned a good life requires giving up on her dreams too. And a man like Knox Eden will only ever be a dream.

Juniper Hill is Book 2 in the new small town family series: The Edens!

REVIEW: This story was just super sweet with a dash of suspense and drama. I liked Knox and Memphis a lot as characters. It was so fun seeing them get to know each other and try to resist each other. Knox is definitely a book boyfriend–tattoos, hot, driven, and family oriented. Memphis was a ridiculously strong female character, and I really enjoyed that about her. Everything she gave up and went through to get to this point, was really inspiring. I also loved how Knox dealt with her insecurities throughout the journey they were on. While I was definitely waiting for the drama to happen, it was interesting to see how it all played out! Devney Perry never disappoints. I always feel like I get a great romance, a great plot, and it ends up exactly how it should. Of course I’m really excited for Garnet Flats, especially with the little snippet we get at the end of this book!

Indigo Ridge by Devney Perry

5 STARS

Release Date: October 26, 2021

SYNOPSIS: Winslow Covington believes in life, liberty and the letter of the law. As Quincy, Montana’s new chief of police, she’s determined to prove herself to the community and show them she didn’t earn her position because her grandfather is the mayor. According to her pops, all she has to do is earn favor with the Edens. But winning over the town’s founding family might have been easier if not for her one-night stand with their oldest son. In her defense, it was her first night in town and she didn’t realize that the rugged and charming man who wooed her into bed was Quincy royalty. Sleeping with Griffin Eden was a huge mistake, one she’s trying to forget. He’s insufferable, arrogant and keeps reminding everyone that she’s an outsider. Winslow does her best to avoid Griffin, but when a woman is found dead on Eden property, the two of them have no choice but to cross paths. As clues to the murderer lead to one of Quincy’s own, Griffin realizes Winslow is more than he gave her credit for. Beautiful and intelligent, she proves hard to resist. For him. And the killer.

Indigo Ridge is Book 1 in the new small town family series: The Edens!

REVIEW: Welp, Devney Perry did it again! I stayed up late into the night to finish this romantic suspense, and it was completely worth it. I LOVED the chemistry between Winn and Griffin. I loved how their connect grew and how they got through the problems they encountered. I especially loved Winn as a female character! The strength and caring she showed in all situations won me over completely. I also enjoyed how Griffin treated Winn throughout the whole book. Even when the hard time came for them, I never questioned if they should be together. I loved it. The mystery around the suicides kept me completely intrigued as well. I felt like I knew what was going to happen, but I did get a little surprise (which rarely happens after all the books I’ve read).

We meet each Eden sibling in this one, but we don’t learn a whole lot. I’m so fascinated by them, and cannot wait to see what happens to each other them in this series. We get the setup for the next book, Juniper Hill, at the end of this one. Let’s just say I know I’m going to LOVE that book, so the count down is on! It comes out January 11, 2022!! You know I bought the paperbacks, I mean, have you seen these covers?!
